By decision of the Municipal Council of Kythera
which was taken on April 29, 2014, the Kythira Airport is named Airport of
Kythera "Alexander Aristotle Onassis." The Municipal Council of
Kythera led to that decision by following many airports that received names of
important historical figures.
The choice of the name of Alexander Onassis
associated with his contribution to the construction of the airport of Kythira
and the Greek Aviation in general.
