Dear friends,

We are communicating with you in order to extend our greeting and love from Motherland. At the same time it is our desire to share with you a great vision of ours which is gradually coming to life. Since 1985, a beauteous Temple in honor of the Most Holy Virgin Mary of Mirtidia (Panagia Myrtidiotissa), patron of the island of Kythera, has started being erected in Athens, and more precisely at the municipality of Alimos.
In 2011, with the efforts of all the parishioners, the Kytherians, and the philo-Kytherians, the Most Reverend Metropolitan Simeon of Nea Smyrni and Alimos together with the Metropolitan Seraphim of Kythera and Antikythera inaugurated the new overground and beauteous Temple with the appropriate Ecclesiastical Order and radiance.
Despite the hitherto materialized works and everyone’s tireless efforts, the Temple still has many shortages and many things have jet to be fulfilled.
For this reason we turn to the love and sensitivity of all Kytherians and philo-Kytherians who live abroad, and especially those in Australia and the United States of America, and ask for aid in the titanic work that is carried out. We ask you to be our fellow brothers-in-arms in our fight to complete the necessary works that will make the Temple of Our Most Holy Lady Theotokos of Myrtidia a jewel.
For whoever wishes to send in the fruit of his/her love, the corresponding bank account in the National Bank of Greece is 108/296006-09. Furthermore, you can always visit the webpage of the Temple (www.myrtidiotisssa-alimou.gr) and be informed about the works in progress. We wish from the bottom of our heart that the blessing of the Holy Trinity is constant in your lives and that you are always encompassed beneath the veil of protection of the Most Holy Virgin Mary of Myrtidia.

For the Ecclesiastical Council
The President
