NOTE: THE VENUE FOR THE 2012 PANIGYRI HAS BEEN
CHANGED
In
honor of our beloved member John Carvounnis, who passed away on July 24,
2012, we have changed the venue for this year's luncheon from the Ascension
Cathedral in Oakland to Resurrection
Greek Orthodox Church in Castro Valley .
John's wonderful smile and never-ending love and enthusiam for the island will
be missed by all. We will be remembering John at this year's luncheon.
On
a brighter note, we are happy to announce that at this year’s Panigyri, we will
be featuring a photo exhibition straight from Kythera! Dimitris Baltzis,
from ilovekythera.com, has
agreed to allow us to exhibit some of his fabulous photos of the island. If you
haven't seen his photos, you are in for a real treat. He is a very talented
photographer who has a sincere love for the island. His photos have been
exhibited around Greece
Remember,
you need not be Kytherian to attend our Panigyri! We encourage
you to invite your friends, your family, and bring your children to this year’s
luncheon. In honor of John Carvounnis, children 12 and under will eat free of
charge.

We
are now accepting applications for the 2013 Anastasia Conomos Condas
Scholarship. If you know anyone who may be eligible to apply, please
refer them to our scholarhip page to download an application. Applications will
also be mailed upon request and will be available at the luncheon. Applications
are due June 1, 2013.

you will find our 2012 Panigyri Invitation, a Reservation
Form, and a KSOCA Address Stamp Order Form.
Please
complete and return the Reservation Form by September 12, 2012.
Remember
to bring items for our annual Raffle and a bottle of wine to share with your
table.
Tom
and I spent a fabulous three weeks on the island this summer. We have many
photos and stories to share with you, including an update on the Bookshelves
Project, as well as new items for our Agora! We look forward to seeing
everyone and enjoying an afternoon of friendship, good food, and filoxenia!
