Archbishop of
Kythera, Serafeim is coming to Australia mid October for a three weeks visit
with father Petros (from Osios Theodoros Monastery). His grace has been invited
by his Eminence Archbishop Stylianos of Australia .
His grace is going
to stay in our compatriot Geogre Hatziplis’ house in Sydney
and will visit Canberra and Brisbane too. He will also meet with the
Premier of Queensland and the Mayor of Brisbane as well with the Consul General
of Greece there, Mr. Raptis. In Canberra
he will meet with the chairman of the Greek Community there, our compatriot
Paul Levantis and the chairman of the Kytherian Association of Canberra as well
as of the Kytheraismos Local Committee John Kalokerinos.
In Sydney , Archbishop
Serafeim is going to meet the Kytherian community there. Chairman of the
Kytherian association of Australia Vic Kepreotes and his steering committee are
working for the welcoming. Demetra Hatziplis and Kathy Samios are preparing the
schedule of his visit. John Comino, chairman of the local committee of the Institute of Kytheraismos
In Brisbane
Peter Vamvakaris is also preparing the visit there. Metropolitis is going to
meet the local officials, the Kytherian community and the Kytherian association
as well as the doctor Nick Comino the chairman and Vikki Londy the coordinator
of the local committee of the Institute of Kytheraismos are going to meet him
too and of course the whole Kytherian community could have his blessing during
the liturgy (service) in the Greek Orthodox churches of the area.
