Attention
people in Kythera!
I'm going
to guide a tour of Agios Kosmas and the 2010/2011 archaeological dig site at
Paliokastro late today afternoon (17.30)
This is
where Kythera's ancient capital is buried (a much earlier equivalent of Chora
today), operating from before 500BC, to at least 50AD.
Agios
Kosmas is a a church built around 720 years ago, using a lot of materials -
including columns, from a 2600 year old temple which it's built on top of, or
was located closely nearby.
I'm getting
the keys to open the church, don't miss out.
