Over 150 people attended
the Greek Club in Brisbane on Wednesday 13th March 2013 to listen to
a most interesting and informative presentation by Emanuel J. Comino on the
case for the reunification of the Parthenon Marbles.
The
event was hosted by AHEPA and the Cultural Committee of the Greek Orthodox
Community of St. George Brisbane.
Emanuel
Comino who is the Founder and Chairman of the first committee in the world to
campaign for the return of the Parthenon Marbles gave a historical cultural and
legal background of this dispute which goes back 200 years.
At
the conclusion of his presentation , Emanuel Comino answered a number of
questions from the audience and then Chris Andalis recited a poem in Greek and
English which he had written to mark the event.
Supper followed and was
enjoyed by all those present.
